25376: Friendship in Action in Freetown, Sierra Leone*

Immerse yourself in the culture of Sierra Leone in this unique opportunity to put friendship into action. The club president of the Friendship Force of Freetown has 500 "bed kits" that he needs help in distributing. These bed kits contain items that will meet the essential needs of children in three local neighborhoods.
These kits contain items such as:
School supplies
Mattresses
Bed sheets and pillows
Bed nets for mosquitoes
School outfits
Items for hygeine
We are looking for 16 volunteers to go to Sierra Leone to help with this project. Accommodations will be in a guest house/small lodge. Members of the Friendship Force of Freetown will accompany us and offer and day hosting and dinner hosting.
In addition to the project of handing out bed kits, you will experience:
Traditional food
Local dance performances
The history of the slave trade and the part Freetown played
Cotton Tree and King Yard's Gate
The famous beaches in Sierra Leone
A cooking lesson
And so much more!
