Trade the guidebook for a trail map. Over twelve days in Virginia and North Carolina, you'll paddle, pedal, and hike your way through the South Atlantic during the best of spring weather β hosted by the Richmond, Raleigh, and Western North Carolina Friendship Force clubs, who know exactly which river bends, back roads, and waterfalls are worth the effort.

π JOURNEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Urban Hiking on the James River β Walk the banks of one of Virginia's most historic waterways
- Whitewater Through Downtown Richmond β Raft rapids in the middle of a capital city
- Two Legendary Rail Trails β Ride the Virginia Capital Trail and the Neuse River Trail
- Kayaking Robertson Mill Pond Swamp β Paddle a quiet, otherworldly Southern wetland
- Green River Gorge by Zipline & Kayak β Fly over the canopy, then run Class I and II rapids
- Waterfalls & Wildflower Meadows β Hike national forest trails to spectacular falls
πͺ HEALTH & FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
- Able to hike at least 5 miles over 2β3 hours with 500 feet of elevation change
- Able to bike up to 20 miles at an easy pace (e-bikes available to rent)
- Able to ride a zip line
- Able to get in and out of a kayak and paddle up to 2.5 miles
Alternative activities for biking and zip lining may be possible if needed.
