Program Overview

Montreal (Sept 21–26, 2025)

Explore Montreal's vibrant culture, historic architecture, and diverse cuisine. Highlights include:

  • Walking tours of Old Montreal and the downtown area.
  • Urban trail of Mont-Royal, Westmount, and Outremont, offering stunning 360° city views.
  • Day-trip to Mont-Tremblant, a year-round outdoor destination.
  • Hiking in orchards and parks near the city.

Sherbrooke (Sept 26–30, 2025)

Nestled among lakes, rivers, and mountains, Sherbrooke offers outdoor adventures and local charm. Activities may include:

  • Hiking at Mont-Ham or Mont Orford National Park.
  • Tours of local murals, museums, and cheese factories.
  • Visits to St-Benoît-du-Lac Abbaye and other cultural sites.

Gatineau-Ottawa (Sept 30–Oct 4, 2025)

The Canadian Capital Region offers a mix of urban attractions and natural beauty. Highlights include:

  • Hiking in Gatineau Park, featuring trails like the Wolfe Trail Loop and Skyline Trail Loop.
  • Visits to the Canadian Museum of History, Parliament, and other landmarks.
  • Optional urban trails along the Ottawa River and Rideau Canal.

Trails and Activities

This journey features a mix of hiking and sightseeing, with trails ranging from easy to intermediate difficulty. Some examples:

  • Montreal Trails:

    • 3-Summit Urban Trail: 6 hours with scenic views.
    • Mont St-Hilaire and Oka National Park offer intermediate hikes with stunning landscapes.

  • Sherbrooke Trails:

    • Mont-Ham: 360° panoramic views from 713 meters (2,340 ft).
    • Trails in Mont Orford National Park, such as the 9.7 km (6 mi) Pekan Trail.

  • Gatineau-Ottawa Trails:

    • Wolfe Trail Loop: 8.3 km (5.16 mi), 291 m (955 ft) elevation gain.
    • Skyline Trail Loop: 5.3 km (3.3 mi), 148 m (485 ft) elevation gain.

What’s Included?

  • Transportation: During home stays and between cities (private bus for Mont-Tremblant).
  • Meals: All breakfasts, most lunches, and dinners with hosts.
  • Activities: Entrance fees to all scheduled activities.

What’s Not Included?

  • Transportation to Montreal (start of the journey) and from Ottawa (end of the journey).
  • Five (5) lunches and any alcoholic beverages in restaurants.

Physical Fitness Requirements

Participants must be able to:

  • Walk 9.7 km (6 mi) or 3 hours on unpaved trails with intermediate elevation gain.
  • Navigate stairs, public transportation, and varied terrain.
  • Be prepared for potential rain and temperatures ranging from 10–20°C (50–70°F).

Important Dates

  • March 1, 2025: Submit interest.
  • April 15, 2025: $500 USD deposit due (non-refundable).
  • July 15, 2025: Final club fees due (non-refundable after Sept 1).
  • August 15, 2025: FFI fees due.
