A rare opportunity has opened up to join our 8-day hosted journey to the nation's capital, timed perfectly with America's 250th Anniversary celebrations and the peak of fall foliage season. You'll stay with welcoming host families and experience Washington the way most visitors never do, from the inside out.

Trip Highlights Include:

• Great Falls National Park — the Potomac River in its full autumn glory, with a ranger-led walk along one of George Washington's earliest engineering marvels
• Glen Echo Park — a storied arts center featuring one of the country's rare functioning antique carousels, with a rich civil rights history
• Civil Rights & Lincoln's Legacy Day — Frederick Douglass's Cedar Hill estate, Lincoln's Cottage where the Emancipation Proclamation was drafted, and a walking tour of U Street's "Black Broadway"
• Presidential History — The People's House White House Experience, the Lincoln Memorial, and the brand-new Lincoln Memorial Undercroft Museum opening just for the 250th Anniversary
• Shenandoah Valley — the Museum of the Shenandoah, Old Town Winchester, and the Cedar Creek Civil War Battlefield
• Halloween in Old Town Alexandria — cobblestone streets, colonial history, and seasonal festivities, capped by a visit to the magnificent George Washington Masonic National Memorial
