Join the Friendship Force of Western Michigan on their journey to Oklahoma City!

The Mother Road is calling.  That’s the historic Route 66 and Oklahoma is celebrating its 100th birthday.  Oklahoma has the most miles of the original highway.  This journey will be an experience like a traveler along the route.  Sights to see along the way include:

  • The world’s largest thumbtack depicted in colorful neon and learn how those neon signs are made
  • Stop and see a huge collection of soda pop  with flavors from around the world
  • A local farm market
  • An energetic OKC downtown with a canal ride
  • The world’s only Museum of Osteology (that’s skeletons)
  • A peek into space travel plus a chance to learn a bit about modern wind power.
  • The culture of the ole' west and our rich Native American heritage will be explored at the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
  • A stop to see the giant Clydesdale horse stables,
  • A visit to the National Weather Center that is so critical to our weather warning system
  •   Travelers get to eat along the way in authentic Route 66 diners, plus samples of the varied cuisines from around the world found along the road. Then who knows what other exciting sights and people to be found along this once in a life time road trip.  Come along and enjoy the ride.
