Eight days in southern Mexico, timed with La Fiesta Grande de Chiapa de Corzo. Meeting the people of Chiapas and living alongside them is the heart of this Journey — you will stay in the homes of Club Chiapas Junior members and see the state through their eyes.

• Take part in La Fiesta Grande, wearing the traditional dress alongside your hosts, and watch the parades of chiapanecas and parachicos in the Magic Town of Chiapa de Corzo
• Sail the Sumidero Canyon on a two-hour boat ride up the Grijalva River, between walls that rise a thousand metres above the water
• Spend two days in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, a colonial Magic Town of painted façades and walking streets
• Visit the Tsotsil communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán, and the home of a family who still weaves on the backstrap loom
• Explore the Textile Museum of the Mayan World and the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo
• Walk through ZooMAT, set inside a nature reserve, where only fauna native to Chiapas is kept
• Hear marimba where it was born — at Parque de la Marimba, at the Casa de la Marimba, and at your welcome party
• Eat your way through Chiapaneca cooking, from Las Pichanchas to a riverside farewell lunch at Las Haditas
